In this agricultural rock song dalai dávid simplifies Goethe’s theory of colours and light with the shameless recklessness of the ignorant mind. When you observe an already or still lit area from a dark place – as you do for example, at sunset or sunrise -, you see it in reddish – orangish – yellowish colours. However, when you look into the darkness from a light area – like when you turn your gaze towards space from Earth’s lightbulb atmosphere -, you sense it as blue. Therefore, only two colours exist: some kind of red and some kind of blue. The rest are all the shades between them.
lyrics
red it is from the dark and
blue it is through the light
the offspring are the other five
man made of snow
are you melting now?
your memory gives way to the lawn
behind you nothing
that hides the everything
your curtain’s breaking at the dawn
one sleeps always
the other not ever
and all the shades are in between
they come, they go but
no one ever leaves
their ends meet in eternity
